I'm so proud ...

Tracy resident, US Army Sergeant Major Larry R. Johnson was awarded his second Bronze Star Medal for combat operations in Iraq on January 11, 2008. SGM Johnson is currently serving in Al Anbar Province as a member of the Provincial Reconstruction Team paired with the II Marine Expeditionary Force that has seen action in both Ramadi and Fallujah. SGM Johnson received the medal for meritorious actions with one oak leaf cluster from Lieutenant General Raymond T. Odierno, Commander of the Multi-National Corps-Iraq. SGM Johnson was also awarded the Navy/Marine Accommodation Medal for other actions.

The 29 year Military Police veteran has served two tours in Iraq totaling more than 26 months. SGM Johnson moved to Tracy in 1969 where he resides with his wife Terri Johnson, a local Realtor, and his family. He will begin his return stateside from Iraq by the middle of March and will be home the first week in April.

A Provincial Reconstruction Team is a civilian-military inter-agency effort that provides the primary connection between U.S. and coalition partners and provincial and local governments.

As always it is a pleasure "following" Larry - and for that matter YOU my friend "around" on your journey.
I remember the excitement from last time when they all came back, and Lori, you and I were sitting and waiting together the night before their boots hit the ground in San Jose.
It's going to be awesome for you two when you're together again.
