It's Sunday in Iraq ...

That was a long 3 days since we'd talked. Larry seemed to be doing well. He was just getting ready for church at 10AM his time. I was so happy to hear that he is also attending a bible study on Thursday evenings. He said it is nothing like our small group but better than no fellowship.

He has been working with the local Army this past week. Also attended a Provincial Council Meeting, met with City and Government officials working on local economics and banking. He said it is very challenging since none of them speak English.

The work schedule is everyday except Sunday they get 1/2 day off. He will be going back to Baghdad on Tuesday for 3 days. Traveling is such a hassle as they travel in helicopters in short spurts. It takes 24 hours to get there and 24 hours to get back. For safety purposes it is what it is.

While we were on the phone I heard a bunch of sirens, I asked what was going on and suddenly he said he had to get down, he was hearing gun fire. Apparently there are places to duck under and behind everywhere on the bases for reasons such as this. That was a tad unnerving.

Thanks again for all of your prayers and support. We miss each other so much and there is nothing we can do but be strong and have faith that all will turn out the way WE want it.
